Catalogue Item GLS-BASE-AF-08Methacrylic-Free Chemistry8 ml Frosted Bottle
Hypoallergenic acid-free primer base eliminates thermal spikes and natural plate thinning.
Developed for clients who experience stinging pain in LED curing lamps or allergic redness around cuticles from aggressive primer acids. Neutral pH 6.8 formulation bonds through molecular intermolecular attraction rather than corrosive chemical etching.

Technician Testing Observation • Salon Practice Since 2022
In our Charlotte salon studio, clients with over-buffed nail beds frequently dread the curing lamp because standard methacrylates generate painful heat spikes reaching 50°C. This acid-free primer base caps peak polymerization temperature below 34°C, completely avoiding thermal shock and onycholysis.

Lamp burning is an exothermic chemical reaction. When UV or LED light strikes photo-initiators, chemical bonds snap and reconnect in milliseconds, releasing thermal energy. In cheap, mass-market bases, manufacturers overload formulas with inexpensive photo-initiators and volatile acids so the gel cures rapidly even in weak lamps. On thin natural nails, that heat transfers straight into the vascular nail bed, causing acute burn trauma.
Hypoallergenic Acid-Free Primer Base uses high-purity polyurethane oligomers and a dual-photo-initiator blend that meters the reaction rate. The temperature rise is gentle and sustained, staying under 34°C throughout the entire 60-second cycle. Clients feel zero burning or throbbing.
Because it contains 0% methacrylic acid, it does not dissolve the keratin bridges that hold the nail plate to the nail bed. It bonds mechanically by penetrating the microscopic surface texture created by a fine 180/240 buffer.

Studio Practitioner Inquiry • Bond Strength
"Without acid primer etching, does this gentle base lift faster on oily nail plates?"
Glossiques Desk ReplyAdhesion Protocols
On clients with hyperhidrosis or naturally oily nail beds, skipping dehydration will cause lifting within five days. However, the solution is not burning the plate with 70% methacrylic acid primer; the solution is disciplined physical prep.
You must cleanse the nail twice with 99% isopropyl alcohol, apply an alcohol-based dehydrator, and allow 30 seconds for complete moisture evaporation. When this acid-free base is applied over a properly dehydrated plate, it achieves 12 to 16 days of adhesion without edge lifting.
Our manicure master, in salon practice since 2022, inspects every lot against manufacturer batch records. We provide dated invoices and product certificates confirming that the acid-free specification is chemically genuine.
Client Objection • Viscosity Limitation
"Can I build a thick apex arch with this 8 ml acid-free base?"
Glossiques Desk ReplyViscosity Class Guidance
No. This base is formulated at a fluid 3,200 mPa·s viscosity specifically to lay down an ultra-thin, flexible bonding coat of less than 0.2 mm. If you try to deposit a heavy architectural bead, it will flow into the eponychium and cuticles before reaching the lamp.
If your client has sensitive nails and also needs structural apex alignment, use this acid-free base as a primer bonding layer, cure it for 30 seconds, and then overlay our Dense Rubber Base ($14 USD per 15 ml). That protocol gives you gentle hypoallergenic contact with the natural plate plus high-viscosity structural strength above.
Gentle Plate Protocol
Application benchmarks for sensitive, heat-reactive nail plates.
Designed to preserve keratin health and eliminate curing pain. Follow these five procedural steps for maximum retention without chemical irritation.
01
Gentle Surface Buffing
Use only a fine 240-grit soft sponge buffer to remove surface shine. Never use coarse 100-grit files on sensitive nail plates. Stroke gently in the direction of keratin growth to avoid tearing delicate surface layers.
Saturate a spunlace lint-free wipe with 99% pure isopropyl alcohol. Scrub the nail surface thoroughly, including lateral grooves, to strip residual oils and dust. Allow 30 seconds for air evaporation until the plate appears chalky matte.
Wipe the brush neck twice against the bottle rim until almost completely dry. Apply a microscopic film across the plate, leaving a 1 mm gap from proximal cuticle skin. Seal the free edge with the dry tip of the brush.

04
Standard 48W LED Lamp Cure
Cure for 30 to 60 seconds under a standard 48W UV/LED lamp. Because the formula caps exothermic release below 34°C, clients do not need low-heat modes or hand withdrawals.
Apparatus: 36W–48W UV/LEDTime: 30–60 secondsSensation: Zero heat spike
05
Dispersion Assessment
The cured base leaves a tacky, high-clarity dispersion coat. Do not wipe with alcohol. Immediately proceed to apply pigmented nail polish or overlay with structural rubber base if apex volume is desired.
